There has indeed been progress for my new coloring book – Spirit Animal Mandala’s that I am hoping to be releasing at the end of the month. It’s going to have 33 pages all together of different animals and a connecting mandala for you to actively meditate on while you color them.
As I was working on them my partner got all excited about the eagle one and wanted a version that he could paint on canvas – which of course got me inspired to figure out how to get them to you on canvas for you to color or paint them yourself. So I am actively on a search for print on demand company or something like it.
Of course this inspired me to create one on wood with pyrography and this is the result so far. I will probably add on the wood-burning but haven’t decided what just yet.
And I can’t wait and see what my partner does with his version of inspiration to use a mandala for a painting. And I may do the same as well once I am done editing all of the pages.
The coloring book will be available as a pdf download in my shop so make sure you get on the list to be notified when it has arrived!
As someone who wasn’t too keen on math during my high school years, I never thought I would use a compass again but here I am working on another coloring book inspiration doing just that.
The inspiration came to me as I was creating the skull mandala you see below and really that’s usually how I find new ideas and projects. I think we often get caught up staring into space and wonder “what’s next” instead of doing things and allowing them to just flow.
As I was creating said skull mandala I had the idea of using spirit animals as a guide and then create a mandala around them – making the animal the focus. I don’t talk about my spirituality very often as that for me is quite personal but in this sense, I am drawing to nature and try to take multiple walks during the week to be outside. And that means I at times come across an animal here and there – not the usual squirrel I see when I look out the window but maybe an orange lizard crossing the road or a turtle on the trail.
I believe that we cross an animal it is trying to tell us something if we are willing to listen or even ask ourselves: “I wonder why this animal came into my presence today?”
The lizard is a survivor and fights to get its way – and I can see the relevance in that. As someone who has survived quite a bit I keep working towards my goals no matter what and the evidence is showing up and the turtle teaches us to create peace and stick to that creation with determination.
One of the things I have been reminded off since the Pandemic showed up is to stay focused on what I want to achieve and do the work. And I don’t have to do it out loud – I can do it quietly in the background and show up on the socials when it feels good to do so.
Creating art brings me peace and I set the intention to do something creative every single day – there are some days I am less successful due to client work or other business administrations but I have been 85% successful in doing art consistently which leads me to why I use a compass again.
I think you can free hand mandala is you want to – in the past I created a template that I used for the Create your Calm Coloring book but this one I decided the compass and other drawing tools are more appropriate as I am centered each with an animal and they tend to vary in size. You can see a preview of the images below.
Not exactly sure when I will be releasing this one as I still have about 31 animals or so to go and then edit them and lay them out. If you want to know when they are available, get on my email list (scroll down a bit and you’ll see the form) and be the first to know!
For the November Art Challenge I wanted to challenge you all to choose a different way to finish a page in the ways I have outlined in Coloring Lounge!!
I think we can find ourselves in a rut sometimes and get bored with using the same process over and over again. So I am launching this art challenge to expand our creativity. I have listed quite a few ways on different coloring ideas inside the Coloring Lounge where you will get access to the page as well.
I can’t wait and see what you will use for your coloring page and what you will create with the November Art Challenge.
We are going to have a few guidelines (rebels don’t like rules but we can handle guidelines) that I would like for you to read and know.
One Entry of Art Per Person is allowed and the winner will be announced on December 7th – so be sure to get your submissions in before then.
You will submit your art via the Facebook Group and I will feature in on the blog post along with other submissions!

November Coloring Pages for the Coloring Creatives are!
This months the focus is continuing around the fall seasons that’s also harvest season. The squirrel is off to gather his nuts while the farmer is harvesting the crops. In Germany, we don’t have thanksgiving in the sense you do in the US. For us growing up it was about giving thanks for mother earth and the successful crops and bounty we were able to harvest for the year.
November pages include a monthly and weekly overviews, gratitude page, goal and money tracker and meal planer. I find that when I am stumped on what I need to focus on, coloring the pages can help me find those answers.
Technology and the pandemic have led us to feeling disconnected from those we care about. Use these greeting cards to remind those you love you are thinking about them.
November Coloring Creatives also includes patterned coloring pages, mandala coloring pages and seasonal pages. There are plenty of times during the week where I find myself watching TV and coloring at the same time. It’s soothing and when I am extra fidgety with energy helps calm me.
Coloring Creatives is for you if you love coloring but also recognize the benefits of this activity and how it can improve your own well-being. The less stress you feel the better you feel. The more clear your head the better decisions you can make.
The coloring pages are be themed based on holiday or season, have mandalas, patterns coloring pages, calendar pages, quote pates, puzzles such as crossword, sudoku, or word search!
And you can connect with other people in our community for fun and for support during our monthly coloring hangouts – and yes we can talk about more than just coloring!
Holiday Season is creeping in as we are just coming up on Halloween but as I like to think a head a bit and it’s good marketing or something, creating holiday gifts is already happening in my world.
Before I go into more details I wanted to share that these three fellas are ready for a good home. You’ll have to email me however to claim one of them!
But while you’re decided to adopt one of those guys I’ve already started with Ornaments. And this year I am doing it a bit different. Its not that I don’t like using polyurethane but there’s something a little extra about having pyrography ornaments be shiny. Maybe it’s because of all the twinkling lights on the trees or something. So this year I am adding a coat of Resin to the ornaments after they are completed. And I couldn’t love it anymore if I tried.
If you’ve been following me on Instagram or Facebook, you will already have seen some of these. If you haven’t well here you are – the first official order has arrived and I cannot wait for the to receive it.
I will be listing the finished ornaments over the next few days but I encourage you to get in touch with me about any custom orders you’d like to place so that we can make sure you receive them in time. And it’s simply because Holiday Season is where I am the busiest when it comes to creating handmade gifts.
I’ve been having a lot of fun creating the animal doodles – I will probably create an animal coloring book out of these when I have enough of them – but they’ll also be part of the Coloring Creatives – not all at once though as that already has roughly 30 pages in the monthly collection.
It’s been healing in some ways as we are heading into the seasons when my son received his liver transplant and things went a little wonky for a bit. It’s been 12 years now and there are still parts that are healing and it happens every time just a bit more when I doodle. When we were in ICU for his recovery I started doodle like this but not with animals – just words incorporated into my doodles – I feel like that’s probably what I needed at the time.
Anywho, these are fun to create and relaxing too. It’s really meditative for me and allows me to stay in the present instead of getting lost in all the what-if’s my mind sometimes likes to create.
I’ve been using colored pencils for the animal doodles – and actually had to get new ones. My best friend had bought me the Black Widow Colored Pencils for Christmas last year and I was excited to finally use them – and they were used for the Turtle and the Dragon. The Tiger was colored with the magic fly brand. Both brands were solid – but I definitely had more color choices with the Magic Fly Set as I bought the 72-count one.
