Do you consider yourself a Master of Adversity?

I know I have and truly you are in our own way because the truth is that you have dealt with hard times, and it’s nearly impossible to avoid change in your life. I’d love to share with you what I’ve learned about facing adversity and managing transitions, along with some concrete strategies that can help you to navigate the difficulties you will encounter from time to time.

Overcoming anything you face has to do with your own attitude about the challenge and the change you are facing, but I also know that having a positive attitude alone isn’t going to help you create the life you want or move through the challenges. But adjusting how you think about a challenge or a change and then taking proactive measures with purpose, can move you through the storm without getting swallowed by the wave. Being in the storm doesn’t feel good but as the adage goes, this too shall pass.

You can gain back a bit of control when life seems to be throwing you curveballs. And while change can be scary when you are facing big challenges, you are able to embrace new things, break obstacles down into manageable steps and it requires you to stay focused on your vision for your path.

Further, if you can incorporate self-care into your everyday routine, you are developing positive habits to support you and have a better ability to cope with the storm you are facing. Sometimes, it’s important to recognize when getting some help from a friend or a professional is necessary. No one expects you to be perfect, and there’s no shame in accepting assistance when needed. And when you are ready it’s ready for but only you can decide that. And yes, all it takes is one decision.

Change doesn’t have to be overwhelming, and challenges can be overcome without pain. Trust yourself enough that you have what it takes because you are more resilient than you think!
