How to get things done that are important to you

How to get things done that are important to you

I know what it feels like to have these ideas and dreams and struggle to get started. Figuring out what is important and how to get things done can be challenging.

I have 3 kids, am a multi-passionate and run 3 businesses. It wasn’t until I discovered how to create focus and time management skills that suited me that I began making an impact in my life and in my businesses.

But just how to do you identify what is important to you? How to narrow down what your steps are to move towards your goal?

At the end of each month, I sit down and get clear on the goals that I want to achieve. I start with the main goal and then break it down into smaller goals. The smaller goals are the action steps that support the main goal.

This will look like this:

  • Main Goal
    • Smaller goal
    • Smaller goal
    • Smaller goal

You can create as many smaller goals as you need that will support your main goal. And once you have identified what will help you achieve the main goal, it is time to create action steps for each goal.

  • Smaller goal
    • Action step
    • Action step
    • Action step

The one thing I learned that may be helpful to you is that goals and action steps change. It’s important to allow for flexibility and recognize when something becomes less important.

Here’s the thing to remember, all those smaller goals and action steps support your main goal, and you can work them into your schedule. Start with the one that seems most important or pressing to get done, and add it to your daily planner.

Then look at all the other steps and tasks you need to get done and rank them by priority and fit them into your schedule accordingly. Some tasks will take less time than others. Some smaller goals you can get done in one day while other’s need to be spread out over a week or months.

How to stop waiting and start taking action

How to stop waiting and start taking action

Have you ever considered what getting clear on your dreams does for you?

Or what one simple action will do for your life?

You have the vision that is so far out of reach and you wonder every single day when will your dream turn into reality.

You plan, plan and then plan some more waiting for perfection and just the right time. You keep analyzing every single detail about your dream. You keep talking yourself out of it and your doubts and fears tell you that it just cannot happen.

I’m going to tell you something and you may not like it, but the right time will never come into reality.

And now I am going to tell you that you CAN turn your dreams into reality, with one single thing.

Taking Action!

Let go of fear and self-doubt Click To Tweet

Believe in you and in your dream.

But how can I take action when I don’t know what to do?

You already have a plan right? So, now create some action steps to go with the plan.

Brainstorm a list of things you will need to do.

Let’s say you want to start a business because you want the freedom.

What will you need to get started?

Create a checklist of what you will need to do.

Do those things!

Or maybe you want to make more art?

What art do you want to do? Decide it!

Purchase your supplies.

Make art.

Oh but I don’t have the time.

We all have the time when we make it a priority. Click To Tweet

You look at all the things you are doing now and decide what it is that no longer fits in your priority list, let that go and then voila, you now have time to do that thing you want to do.

Just maybe you are saying, but I want to be healthier.

Define what being healthier means to you.

Is it eating less junk food or cooking more meals from scratch or both. Is it exercising and moving your body more often?

Be clear on what that means for you and then write it down.

Now write all the things you can do to help you feel and be healthier.

You have just created a list of all the things you can do to take action.

When we start to overanalyzing and make excuses i.e. it’s not perfect enough or I don’t have time you are being a disservice to your own life and your own dream.

Be the Phoenix and Rise Above

riseFor women who are ready to rise above and take charge of their mindset so they can create the life their want.

For many years, people asked me how I do it.

How do I go to work, raise children, go to school, care for a medically fragile child and still show up in the world believing and doing?

I never questioned the how of doing something as I just do but as a realization set in that this guide is to help you learn my process and create the change you want in your life.

I was driven by wanting to remove the frustration from my life, and the see the abundance that already surrounded me.

My story isn’t unique but it certainly is unique to me – a little bit of a huh? what?

There are plenty of other people who have risen above through challenging stories and each story is unique to the person. We all have what it takes to change our story and to rise above those limiting beliefs that we impose upon ourselves.

And this is exactly what this course is about, identifying what you want to change or improve and come up with a solution. You have the answers already, stuck inside of you and the course is asking you to open the doors to possibility.

Change always begins from inside before it can be translated into our outer world. This course is about the internal work and applying it to the external parts into our life.

If you had enough and you are ready to change the direction of where you want to go, then this course is for you. It’s time to stop being extra in your life and start being the main character.

Give yourself permission to dream, believe in yourself and take action.

Your time is now!

I am not here to Inspire you but help you Rise Above and Fly

I am not here to Inspire you but help you Rise Above and Fly

Inspiration is awesome and I like being inspired and love that people find my story… well inspiring but motivation and embracing change and getting you up and do something about your life and your dream, that is what I really want.

Inspiration has no meaning if you don’t take action. It becomes just another word, like saying sorry millions of times. But you are not sorry or inspired if you don’t start creating the change you want to see in your life.

I can tell you where I have been, what I have done and even how I have done it but it all comes back to two words:

Taking Action!

Without taking action you will not rise above and your life will simply remain the same, filled with frustration and lacking the oomph to do something about it.

When is enough, enough?

At what point are you going to stop watching everyone else follow their heart and do the things they want to do?

When will you give yourself permission to have the job or business that has been calling you or the book you want to write that is just lingering within.

When will you own that you are in control and have the power to make the changes you want to make?

There is no overnight success in achieving our dreams and goals and truly feeling good about who we are. It takes practice and pushing you out of the comfort zone.

It means showing up even when other people call you crazy and try to tell you to keep playing it safe.

But all that hard work, crushing those fears and quieting the doubts, ask yourself are you worth it?

Of course, you are.

Creating a life that feels good and creating things that bring you joy, all of it is worth it.

My why is to give you the how on getting started!

How am I doing this?

How long will you wait to live your life?

How long will you wait, in order to live your life?

Why do we wait for retirement to do after the dreams we have always had?

Why not today? Why not now?

And everything you are saying now in your head is an excuse.

Need money?

Make some!

Don’t know how?

Get creative!

I have done this myself for the longest time. I told myself that I can’t or couldn’t because I didn’t have the money to create the life I wanted.

What I really needed to do is get clear what I wanted my life to look like and what my dream like means to me.

My dream is to have my businesses (yes, I have 3 because I believe in diversifying and as a multi-passionate person, boredom strikes easily). But by having those businesses, I am also being able to share my message: Dream, Believe, Take Action because you can have what you want.

My dream is to be the best parent I can be and that kind of parent, in my mind, is available to the kids. To be able to take them to doctor’s appointments without guilt, to spend time with them playing poker on a Friday night for fun.

My dream is to have the freedom to work with clients on the days I choose while I may work on my other business on different days. To have the freedom to dress how I want, to color my hair, to have piercing and tattoos.

My dream is to define my life by simply being myself.

This can be challenging when we are taught to follow the norms and rules of graduating high school, getting a college education, dress professionally, go to work every day until retirement and hope to have vacation time in-between.

But somewhere deep down you want to write a book, go on vacation, maybe even start a business.

What is stopping you is not knowing how to do it because there is plenty of information and support available to figure that out.

What IS stopping you is what you are telling yourself about your dream because someone once told you that you can’t and you believed it.

Someone once told you that this kind of thing (book, business, vacation) only happens to other people and you believed it.

Someone perhaps even told you that taking a risk is crazy because it’s so much safer and even normal to follow the rules of society and you believed them BUT something deep down is bubbling up.

Deep down you have hopes and wishes that you want to make happen and be true. And here is where the hard work comes in: Mindset work is everything and if you don’t believe in yourself or your dream, no one else will either.

You are the example of possibility, the image of courage and bravery.

Don’t wait another minute to wait until retirement.

Don’t wait for another second that the right moment will come.

The perfect time is now – and it’s perhaps the only time I would use perfectly.

We must start before we are ready because we will learn everything we need to know along the way.

For today, take a moment and write down all the reasons for why you can’t-do something.

Then challenge those thoughts by rewriting them with all the reasons of why you can.

Affirm to yourself, your mind and your inner being that you have it within you to create the life you want now!
