What is your current frustration that you can change today?
You have a choice to live in that frustration or take some intuitive action.
I understand the frustration, I lived with it for so long. But it was so much more than just that, it was about showing up for me and I couldn’t figure out how to do it.
There was frustration about money or the lack thereof.
The frustration of not being heard.
The frustration that every time I took a step forward, something would knock me back 10 feet.
When my son was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder, I hit my breaking point. I had enough and was done living in frustration. I wanted to provide for my family, do the things I love and be in love.
I returned to college, even though I had just finished 4 years studying accounting. I was here to do bigger and better things that sit in a cubicle all day.
And amid the chaos of learning about what my son’s diagnosis and what it would mean, this is what I learned:
Life is too short to not live and be alive.
We get stuck, overwhelmed and feel like we can’t figure out what to do, what the next step is or even see the next day.
But the cool thing about being human and all, we have the power to do something about it.
So, if you are feeling frustrated right now, sit down with pen and paper and get ready to mind-map.
Mind mapping helps you identify your frustration and allows you to problem solve for solutions.
You can make this as big or as little as you need. Therefore, I like using pen and paper because I can go however long I need to until I can’t come up with another idea.
When you finished, take a break and then come back to it and get your perspective on.
You are in control on how to handle frustration.
You have to know and believe you can do something about it.
You have to know and believe that you are in control and have the power.
