8 Steps to elevating your life

8 Steps to elevating your life

The 2018 Theme for Rebel Shine is YOU RISE ABOVE

And of course, that means talking about how you can elevate your life!

Your life doesn’t have to be what it is now if you make the decision to create change because that is all it takes!

Decide what you really want and how you want your life to feel like. Acknowledge your dreams and passions and choose to follow them.

Decide to not be afraid to speak your truth! Speak up and speak out – for yourself and for those who don’t have a voice. Speak from your soul with clarity and purpose.

Decide to listen to your inner voice and intuition in your life. Don’t judge or think too far ahead and be present with an open mind.

Decide to get back up any time you fall. We all fall down sometimes, it’s life but that isn’t an invitation to stay down, feeling defeated. Instead, dig deep into your inner strength.

Decide who will be part of your life and who won’t be. You will have a hard time elevating your life when you allow negative ninnies, naysayers, and doubters into your inner circle. So choose wisely who you spend time with.

Decide to let go of pain and anger because it doesn’t serve you going forward. In fact, it will hold you back like you’ve been shackled to an invisible cage. It’s not about forgiving those that hurt you, but freeing yourself!

Decide to make time for knowledge! I am not saying don’t watch TV but spend 30-minutes or 1-hour learning. You can still watch TV but perhaps have this at the bottom of the priority list.

Decide to look forward and not backward. You can’t create the life you want and elevate you when you keep looking back at all that happened. Learn from your past and use that knowledge to go up and forward.

Everything you want to be, do and have lies within yourself and making the decision to choose differently!Click To Tweet

Deciding on action could change your life

Deciding on action could change your life

It is never too late to do what you love to do and have the life you want!

But to go after what you want, you must dig deep and do the work.

Growth only happens on the other side of the comfort zone. And the only way to step out of that zone is by taking action!

And the only way to get started is to have clarity on what you want your life to feel like.

It is cutting through

  • The negative thoughts and core beliefs
  • The obstacles and sabotage we often create ourselves
  • The procrastination and stop the excuses

You know you have amazing ideas and dreams just waiting for you to take action.

  • Affirm yourself that you have what it takes
  • Love yourself enough to honor yourself
  • Have Boundaries that support your life

When you rise above the sabotage, obstacles, and fear that has kept you playing small and mostly playing it safe, amazing things are going to happen.

All the things you want to be, do and have are slowly growing and coming into your existence.

All there will be left to do is to create a plan, commit to it and start taking action.

But be careful partaking in this course could be life changing!

Who am I to guide you into rising above and into action?

Every idea I ever had I made happen:

  • I wanted a retail store to support local artists in a small town. Done.
  • I wanted to write a book. Done.
  • I wanted to create coloring books. Done.
  • I wanted to start a business that encompasses all that I do. Done.

But it took fighting the doubts and fears and the voices that didn’t believe it could happen. It meant cutting through the bullshit of my own doing and not caring what other people think about me or my work.

It’s about believing in yourself and having an “I can do” attitude.

Don’t let frustration control you

Don’t let frustration control you

frustrationWhat is your current frustration that you can change today?

You have a choice to live in that frustration or take some intuitive action.

I understand the frustration, I lived with it for so long. But it was so much more than just that, it was about showing up for me and I couldn’t figure out how to do it.

There was frustration about money or the lack thereof.

The frustration of not being heard.

The frustration that every time I took a step forward, something would knock me back 10 feet.

When my son was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder, I hit my breaking point. I had enough and was done living in frustration. I wanted to provide for my family, do the things I love and be in love.

I returned to college, even though I had just finished 4 years studying accounting. I was here to do bigger and better things that sit in a cubicle all day.

And amid the chaos of learning about what my son’s diagnosis and what it would mean, this is what I learned:

Life is too short to not live and be alive.

We get stuck, overwhelmed and feel like we can’t figure out what to do, what the next step is or even see the next day.

But the cool thing about being human and all, we have the power to do something about it.

So, if you are feeling frustrated right now, sit down with pen and paper and get ready to mind-map.

Mind mapping helps you identify your frustration and allows you to problem solve for solutions.

You can make this as big or as little as you need. Therefore, I like using pen and paper because I can go however long I need to until I can’t come up with another idea.

When you finished, take a break and then come back to it and get your perspective on.

You are in control on how to handle frustration.

You have to know and believe you can do something about it.

You have to know and believe that you are in control and have the power.

So, what are you going to do about it?

What is the first step you are going to take?

As with all things, attitude and a willingness to get out of your comfort zone will help you remove any frustration.
