Trust your Creative Spark

Trust your Creative Spark

Every time you ponder your life purpose or a specific situation, pay attention and use your intuition and creative spark to help guide you. Sometimes we need to just pay attention to signals from others and our own intuition.

This can throw things out of balance and may need more of your attention. Perhaps a shift in your exercise routine or your nutrition is in order. Your body knows things and your intuition will share this with you. And it could also be the people in your world, the job, the family and maybe friends too. Your intuition is your own inner personal wisdom center. Make it your best friend!

Of course, sometimes we need to stay in the background rather than trying to control the tide. Just being present doesn’t require pushing your own agenda on other people. And it doesn’t mean to stay stagnant but sometimes simply observing the world around you can give you exactly the information you are wanting and perhaps even needing. And then infuse it all with compassion and maybe forgiveness.

Trust your Creative Spark because it is in that process her you can acknowledge your feelings and express your thoughts. That intuition, your own inner personal wisdom center, will guide you so give it permission to exist. Journal about what your body needs or your mind needs and maybe what you need overall. Free write this without judgment and censoring. This can be not only revealing but give you the release and healing you need to move forward.

Are you waiting for the right time to follow the spark?

Are you waiting for the right time to follow the spark?

Can I ask you something?

Do you feel nudges inside of you to act on an idea you’ve had mulling around in your head?

I like to call them sparks because you’re brain fired off an idea but there’s a connecting missing to get it going – kind of like when a care doesn’t start properly for the engine to start.

And just like when a car doesn’t make the connection properly and it needs to go to the mechanic, you too could use a little work so that all cylinders are a go so you can act on your idea.

Here’s what I know to be true:

The right time doesn’t really exist when it comes to you, your idea and taking action.

  • That book isn’t going to write itself
  • That business isn’t going to gain traction
  • That relationship isn’t going to improve

But more than anything else your self-acceptance isn’t just going to show up even if you were too when you start doing what your soul calls you to do and your mind tells you it’s a brilliant idea.

Until 2007, I talked about that one day I would write a book about growing up in foster care and I did all the prep work. Created a timeline of important points I wanted to cover and then it just stood at a standstill. But then through the experience with my son and the recognition that life is too damn short, I wrote and published my book in 2009.

And every time I have a spark fire off, I remind myself that life’s too short and I owe it to myself to see where it goes!

Every dream, spark, and goal needs mindset work that includes:

  • Self-awareness of where you are right now and who you are
  • Self-acceptance and embracing yourself to the fullest
  • The willingness to look at yourself from a different angle

I created this guide to help you get started on your journey because when you want to follow your spark, you have to start with yourself!

You owe it to yourself to explore you and see where those sparks lead you!

What is it that you are waiting for?

What is it that you are waiting for?

Dreams will never become a reality if you don’t turn them into goals and take action!

And creating a life or business can feel overwhelming if you don’t know where to begin. It can also be incredibly lonely but once you make the first move, it can be exhilarating. I speak from personal experience.

There is something to be said about having people in your corner cheering you on and supporting you in your journey as you follow on spark at a time.

Here’s the thing, until you get a taste of your dream you won’t really know if it really aligns with who you and what you stand for. My dream and goal are to live in an RV in about 5-6 years when my youngest has finished school and lives independently.

But that’s not the point! My point is that I got a taste of what that would be and feel like and I am more excited than ever to make that a reality for me. I wouldn’t know this had I not gone to the Rock Festival and camped out.

So here’s the thing, having someone who understands the struggle and the challenges is kind of a cool thing to have in your corner and can be a life changer.

There is so much ability you have and you are filled with amazing potential just sitting inside of you waiting for you to ignite the spark and create a life where everything feels incredible and amazing. It takes time, work and support to achieve all that you want to be, do and have.

And this is why I am so passionate about the Rebel Spark Collective because it is the place and space where I am real with you as I keep working towards my own dreams and goals while at the same time supporting you to do the same. Finding the spark within yourself

Finding the spark within yourself

Life is too short to live out of integrity, without your truth and following your deepest desires. When you can’t show up as you in any given situation, everything will feel like a crap shoot. And you are doing yourself and everyone around you a huge disservice. It’s time to find the spark within you!

And while it may not be something you want to do, sometimes you must let other’s down in the pursuit of being who you are, doing the things you love and having what you so deeply desire.

Standing in integrity will call in your truth and make space for you in this world – and while it may feel like you walk it alone, I promise you that you are not.

Because the moment you are living in your truth, your people will show themselves to you and before you know it, you are surrounded by the most amazing circle of people ever imagined.

Showing up fully in your truth doesn’t always mean you have to speak. Instead, allow your being to share the space by holding space.

Sometimes the world get’s filled with so many words and no one really listens because we are so busy trying to fix all the problems. However, listening and holding space doesn’t need fixing. It merely means to love the other person exactly where they are and see them. Something just being seen can mean all the difference in the world.

As I opened the doors to the Rebel Spark Collective, something became quite clear to me.

I want to walk through the mud with you and sling it around as life is crazy and chaotic and you can’t see a single thing because the storm has caused quite the undoing of things.

And I want to be there, to listen, to see you and be present when life is in that crazy spiral where you can’t see up or down because there’s so much damn mud.

And I want to be there as the mud hardens and things become clear again and you are able to find your footing on your path. I want to celebrate the ish out of you because you are absolutely freaking amazing for showing up when it would have been easier to fall into the mudslide to never be seen again.

Give yourself the support and community that will help you rise above all that gets in the way because when we join together – we all rise together.

Join the Rebel Collective and watch your life transform!

29 hours without power and an inspired idea

29 hours without power and an inspired idea

Losing power isn’t always fun. Okay, whom I kidding, it’s never fun really. We lost power due to the windstorm that came to Virginia around noon on Friday.

We are pretty good at managing crisis and challenges come our way but one thing was clear, when your life kinda evolves being connected online, it can make things a bit challenging.

And clearly, I spend way to much time online and am needing to make the time to disconnect a bit of a priority.

It was pretty scary hearing the wind and the trees dancing in it. Our property is surrounded by trees and a few of them are close to the house which brings a level of fear to the horizon and also some projects we need to address this year.

My son handled pretty well too as he spent time focusing on his art but he too was challenged in staying entertained. The thing for him is that he needs stimulation in order to function and when you take that away it’s like he doesn’t know what to do with himself. And in that reference, we are both the same but I have learned how to cope over the years.

And as we sat in front of the wood stove with a propane lamp trying to keep us warm and entertained, we headed off to another night of little sleep as the wind kept howling.

As the next day rolled around, we were definitely ready for the power to come on but as we tuned into the work that needed to get done by the electric crew we also know it could be a while.

And with that came the concern of the food we would lose, how we would manage our entertainment without losing our minds in the process.

And before I knew it, I was sitting on the couch with notebook and pen and fleshed out a fiction story that came to my mind. I even ran out of ink because I was so in flow with the story that came to me.

What's your story?

There is always something you can do when you are in the middle of a situation that you can’t control. Ours was definitely challenging as we spend our time together in close quarters for the majority of the time.

At my 6 pm Saturday night as I was getting a new pen, the power came on and we danced and celebrated.. ok maybe not like that but it was definitely a relieve in many ways.

Isn’t it interesting how you want nothing more than to shower when your power is out? Or how much time you actually don’t spend together and then when you do, you struggle to keep positive or even pleasant.

How do you manage everything when you aren’t in control of a situation? Have a power outage story?

I’d love to hear it!

And I am off to keep fleshing out the story!
