Let’s be honest, we all want to feel confident but sometimes it’s challenging because we fell upon hard times or we are not seeing any positive traction in our endeavors.
I’ve compiled 6 steps to help you start feeling confident in your life no matter what your situation brings.
Stop comparing yourself!
Sometimes and I mean sometimes, we get caught up in other people’s stories and journeys. It’s totally okay to admire someone. The important key to recognizing is that we are all in different parts of our journey and we don’t achieve success at the same time as other people. We learn and grow differently so instead compare yourself to yourself. Look at where you were a year ago or even three years ago.
Focus on your thoughts
It’s never a good idea to worry about what others think because it takes away from you and what you really have to offer. Instead, trust yourself that you know what works best for you.
I mentioned this in a previous post, but body language is important. How you stand affects how you feel. If you’re slouched down perhaps you come across as tired or sad which also indicates low confidence. Standing up straight will make you feel more confident in who you are and what you do.
Know your strength and grow it
Acknowledge your strength by writing down war you are good at. For instance, you may have strength in painting. The best way to build on that, do more of it.
Love and accept your weakness
We all see them. We can’t be strong and good at everything and perfection doesn’t exist. So, if you love your flaws instead you are shining your true authentic self.
Spend time with people who make you feel good
Spending time with doubters and naysayers will never help you grow to be confident because they have a knack for bringing you down. Become choosy about the people you spend time with and make sure their company helps you feel good and even inspired.
Everyone can learn to be confident, you just must make the decision to do so and sat taking smalls steps helping you feel better about yourself.
